Manchester United Front 5 in 20/21

With Matic holding down the CDM role in Ole’s 4-2-3-1 formation, there’s plenty of attacking talent let loose in the final third for Man United.

With a stop-start season in 19-20 Ole will be looking for more consistency from his young Unite side. We look ahead to the 20/21 Premier League season and set the realistic goal involvement targets for United’s prolific forwards.

Anthony Martial

The once estranged French forward has made the number 9 spot his own season, netting 17 goals and creating 7 assists in 32 games. Ole will be hoping for more of the same next season and Martial should be the player pushing to break the 20 goal barrier in the league.

Marcus Rashford

Another impressive season full of progress for United’s number 10. After netting 17 goals, Marcus also contributed with 8 assists often operating as a left-winger. The fluid forward system allows Rashford and Martial to inter-change positions and should help Rashford get plenty of goals. Rashford is another who should aim to break 20 PL goals – creating a healthy rivalry between the forwards.

Bruno Fernandes

The Portuguese magnifico. With eight goals and seven assists in just 14 games Bruno has lived up to the high expectations he sets for himself. While a goal involvement per game is incredible, it may prove unattainable in the long run. As the main creator in the United attack however, Bruno is going to be involved in plenty of goals – and probably plenty of penalties. With his high-risk high-reward forward passing, can Bruno break the 20 assist barrier?

Paul Pogba

After a season trouble with injuries and unsettling transfer speculation, Pogba looks set to sign a new deal at Man United and form a promising partnership with Bruno in the midfield. The World Cup winner is still yet to silence his critics in a United shirt and the 20/21 season could be the time for Paul to really lay his mark on the Premier League.

Mason Greenwood

The teenage sensation can score with either foot and has already caused Premier League defenders nightmares the season. Mason has made his claim to the right wing spot for next season but the potential signing of Jadon Sancho could disrupt his plans. Mason can however fill in anywhere across the front three and most likely sees his long-term future as a number 9. With many of his appearances off the bench, Mason still managed to hit double figures this season and should look to do much of the same.

Dan James

After a promising start to the season, James seemed to burn out as the season progressed and he eventually lost his place in the starting XI to Mason Greenwood. Appearing in a surprising number of games this season, James may operate best coming off the bench against tired legs in the 20/21 PL season.

The Obvious Addition

Manchester United have made their interest in Jadon Sancho pretty public this summer and in typical United fashion the transfer looks to be dragging out over this summer window. We look ahead to see how his addition could bolster United going forward.

Jadon Sancho

Seemingly on the brink of signing for United for weeks, Jadon has been a revelation for Dortmund in the Bundesliga and would add plenty to United’s front three. With 17 goals and 17 assists in 32 games Jadon could set the Premier League alight. In a slightly less free-scoring league and side, Jadon might not hit the same heights but will surely add plenty of goals and assists if Ed gets the deal done.
